Jaco, UK
Embryologist and part of the Marketing and Sales department
I completed my M. Sc. Agricultural degree at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa in 2000. I then moved to London, UK, where I started work as an embryologist in human IVF. Through my 10 year career in embryology I have also worked in IVF labs in America and India.
I joined Vitrolife in May 2010 as an embryologist and part of the Marketing and Sales department. My duties mostly include assistance of the sales teams from the various different direct sales markets throughout Europe. I accompany the sales team when they do their visits to clinics when there is a specific need for product demonstration. We will then do a presentation and hands-on demonstration in their laboratory to make them feel comfortable with the products. I also visit clinics when there is a need to assess their procedures in the laboratory to see what recommendations and improvements we can make to potentially increase their results. I also share responsibility for the arrangement and presentation of workshops at the head office in Gothenburg during certain months throughout the year.
With these visits and workshops I aim to share my experience as an embryologists with existing customers and to provide significant evidence to potential customers on how the use of Vitrolife products, combined with good and efficient laboratory practice, can yield a very successful clinical outcome. Representation of Vitrolife during national and international conferences is also part of my duties.
Johanna, Sweden
Project manager at R&D
I started studying biology at the University of Gothenburg i August 2001. After my master thesis in molecular biology, I got a work in the production area in Vitrolife in August 2006.
After about a year in production, I got a new position at the quality control laboratory, and after two years I applied to the product development department, where I work today. Our internal work rotation program at Vitrolife has given me the opportunity to get the position I have today, and also made it possible for me to learn new exciting tasks during my employment . As project manager at R&D, I am responsible for development projects of medical devices from research to market approval – CE and 510(k), which I feel is very simulating.
Masaki, Japan
Sales representative
I'm sales person in Japan. What I think is most important thing in my job is "put my feet in the patient's shoe, not only doctor's". Then, we never lose sight of the value of our company. Sensible doctor would understand our positive proposal even it takes time. Patient's and doctor's goal is having healthy baby. Thus, our goal should be the same. It is wonderful to contribute to the birth of new life.
Even though I have spent over 20 years in medical sales, I didn't have basic knowledge of this field when I join this company. However, our educational program is really helpful. We can learn about our products and also out the importance of laboratory quality control. Also, our scientific team is super cool! By their support, we can easily built up a trustful relationship with our customers.
No worry to work at Vitrolife!
