The desire to regularly observe embryos in order to make accurate assessments and the need to minimise disturbance to avoid stressing them has been a long-standing dilemma. Primo Vision microscope, placed inside the lab's trusted incubator, solves this problem by providing continuous observation in undisturbed culture.

The Primo Vision EVO and Primo Vision EVO+ microscopes are compact, digital inverted microscopes, designed for safe and comfortable in-incubator use. The airtight housing incorporates the high-precision optical system, a 5 MP digital camera and fine mechanics for focusing and scanning. 

The microscopes are operated by a central controlling unit, situated outside of the incubator. Connection between the microscopes and the controlling unit is provided by a 3 m long USB cable, supplying electricity to the microscopes only for a few seconds to capture images. The microscopes remain electromagnetically silent at all other times. The lamp of the microscopes is designed to minimise light intensity, using homogenous LED light. 

Undisturbed and minimum stress embryo culture 

The Primo Vision EVO and Primo Vision EVO+ microscopes avoid the need to move embryos or unnecessarily expose them to light from conventional examination with a traditional microscope. Throughout their development, embryos remain safe and undisturbed inside the clinic's trusted incubator. 

 

Use Primo Vision for selection and deselection of embryos

Almost 20% of embryos divide incorrectly or have abnormal cleavage1. The Primo Vision microscope enables embryologists to select the embryos that have the highest implantation potential, which would be impossible with conventional microscopes. All rare events are recorded without disturbing the embryos.

Primo Vision has a modular structure that significantly lowers the investment hurdle. The number of microscopes to start with is a flexible choice. After that, it is easy to plan ahead for new modules as a clinic's need grows. The flexible hardware allows installation of additional microscopes at any time. With a USB connection between the controlling unit and the microscope, integration could not be faster or simpler.
