ICSI is a highly viscous solution for the immobilization of spermatozoa. It contains recombinant human albumin for safety and the most widely used molecule used for this purpose, polyvinylpyrrolidone or PVP. PVP is an inert molecule that does not take part in any metabolic pathway.
